According to Tooley (Map Collector's Circle, no. 33, 1967) in addition to this version, this map was also issued as one of 4 numbered plates on 1 sheet with title: Plan des isles, rades et portes de plusieurs lieux en Amerique. This explains the "No. 3" notation, bottom right inside the neat lines. Prime Meridian is the Paris meridian. A line crosses the map centered by a compass rose which supposedly intersects with Paris.
