PLAN DU PORT ET VILE DE LOUISBOURG dan l'Isle Royale [on sheet with] PLAN DU PORT DAUPHIN ET DE SA RADE Avec l'Entrée de Labrador
Plan of the port and town of Louisbourg on Isle Royale [on sheet with] Plan of Port Dauphin and its harbor with the entrance to Labrador
Jacques Nicolas BellinGuillaume d'Heulland
Two maps of equal importance on one sheet. Scales are in toises (1 toises = 6 ft).
The Port Dauphin map has inset: "FORT Projetté pour défendre l'entrée de PORT DAUPHIN".
2 maps on 1 sheet : 17 x 28 cm and 19 x 28 cm
These maps are identical to those made by Bellin for Pierre-François-Xavier de Charlevoix's "Histoire et Description Generale de la Nouvelle France", however none of plates in that work had two maps on one sheet. We have been unable to determine what work this sheet is from as we can find no other instance described identical to ours. You can view the standalone Port Dauphin map from Charlevoix.
